The Innovation Award is intended to promote medical research, the generation of new therapeutic approaches and patient care in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology in Switzerland. An independent panel of experts determines the award winner from all submitted applications, in complete independence from Dr. Falk Pharma AG - Scientific & Educational Excellence Partner of Falk Foundation e.V.

Are you passionate about research and innovation? Are you a scientist, a health care professional or part of the medical staff with an innovative publication? Then apply now for the Innovation Award 2026. Authors who have temporarily conducted research abroad may also be eligible, provided that the core work leading to the publication was carried out in Switzerland.

You are not eligible if you have won the Innovation Award within the past three years.

For the sixth time, we are honouring research and innovation by medical professionals with an award of CHF 10’000. This Innovation Award is intended to promote medical research, the generation of new therapeutic approaches and patient care in Switzerland.

Work in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology is supported.

Articles published or accepted for publication between 17th November 2025 and 15th November 2026 (no patents). Submissions are accepted from the first as well as the last author. Submissions from the last author require the consent of the first author.

In addition to the article, a short curriculum vitae, the impact factor of the journal, and an abstract in English summarizing the key messages of the research, including its potential significance and relevance for clinical practice and/or the research field, must be submitted.

An independent scientific committee consisting of experts in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology in Switzerland. There is no right of appeal.

The award will be presented in March 2027 at the Innovation Award Ceremony, held in the city or at the institution of the winning publication.
